Transparency & affiliate disclosure
Updated: May 3, 2026
What are affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you click and purchase or book, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is exactly the same.
We identify these links three ways: (1) HTML attribute rel="sponsored noopener nofollow", (2) visually distinct dotted underline, and (3) an informative tooltip on hover.
Editorial independence
Content recommendations (which city to visit, which guide to read, which methodology we use) are NOT conditioned by commercial agreements. We recommend what we believe is useful based on data.
Linked physical products (ISO 12312-2 eclipse glasses, filters, solar binoculars) are chosen for eye safety, not for commission.
Programs we participate in
Booking.com (via Awin Spain) — lodging near the totality path.
Amazon Affiliates Spain — solar observation equipment.
Some programs may not be active at all times. When a link has no tracking ID configured, it still works as a normal link without generating commission.
Your privacy
We don't use third-party tracking cookies. Clicks on affiliate links are measured internally as aggregate server-side events (provider, page type, slug, visitor locale) — no IP, no user-agent, no email, no user_id.
Destination providers (Booking, Amazon) may set their own cookies per their terms. We don't share your data with them.
Compliance
This statement complies with European Commission guidance on hidden commercial communication and with AEPD recommendations on affiliate links.
If you find a link that is not correctly identified as affiliate, email us at contact@eclipses.app.
